“Joseph participated in athletics and band all 4 years of high school, along with UIL academic competitions, and was an AP scholar with Distinction. He received honors at the state level in athletics, band, and UIL academics as well. Joseph was an extremely passionate person and wanted to make the world a better place. I want the recipient of this award to have that passion as well. That is the type of student I would like to see get this award accomplished, driven, passionate, and hardworking.”

To qualify for this scholarship, you must be a student that participated in band and athletics, and has been either accepted into a 4 year university, or top 10% of the graduating class and accepted into a Jr. College. Participation in both programs, or a combination of participation in both programs for three out of four years will suffice. * Athletics includes any athletics program, both male and female, including charmers and cheer. The applicant must also submit a written essay about a topic they are passionate about and how they see their passion bettering the lives of others. The applicant should represent the qualities Joseph Villavisencio was so well known for; being accomplished, driven, passionate, and hardworking.
