The Jacksonville Education Foundation hosted the first "JEF Games Day" Friday, April 7 at the Landmark Event Center. Games Day consisted of 4-top tables with any 4 person game being played. Participants at sixteen tables played either Mah Jjong or Bridge, and the ladies had a wonderful time from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The Jacksonville High School Advanced Culinary Arts class planned, provided, set up, and served a spring luncheon for those attending.
Teacher Preston Parker and his team of seven Culinary Arts students truly wowed the crowd with their professional service and creative menu consisting of Chicken Salad Croissants, Pimento Cheese Sandwiches, Herbed Tuna Salad & Cucumber Bites, Mozzarella, Spinach, & Tomato Skewers, Fruit Skewers, Deviled Eggs, Mini Wedge Salads with Blue Cheese Buttermilk Dressing, Roasted Red Pepper-Tomato Soup, Neiman Marcus Bars, Chocolate Raspberry Cake Bites, & Key Lime Pie Bites.
Many area merchants donated spectacular items and names were drawn throughout the day for door prizes. Special thanks to Sadler's Restaurant, Ruffles, Picture This, Raven Jute, Ritual, our local Taco Bell, Judy Seamands, Gourmet Gardens, Jana Autry, Tiger Lillies, Texas Basket Company, Bill Day Tire Center, Sweet Gourmet, and Kay Harding Designs.
Thank you to all those who supported the Jacksonville Education Foundation at this fun event and look for future announcements about other exciting JEF events in the near future. All proceeds to JEF go towards scholarships, grants, and incentives for students and teachers of Jacksonville Independent School District.
